How to auto populate fields in power apps using a dropdown

Hi All

I have an Employees table in SQL as my data source  .

On a form I have a dropdown field called Employee number  or by just typing the employee number in that field(free text)  I want it to auto populate 3 fields for me. The users don't want type because it will be time consuming .How can I achieve this please?

 The Name

 The Surname

 The Branch

Hi @rmaziwis

What you are looking for is something called a "Type Ahead" dropdown control.  They are found in MS Access but not in PowerApps.  I missed them so I tried to create one.  Take a look here: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/News-Announcements/A-quot-Type-Ahead-quot-or-quot-Searching-quot...  .  Since dropdown controls reference an entire record but only show one value in the window, you can set the Default properties of your text boxes to Dropdown1.Selected.Name and Dropdown.Selected.Surname respectively.
