How to create a Tracking App

Hi,

I am looking for help to create an App which will track First Aid events for a First Aid Charity. When a member goes on a First Aid duty they must enter some basic details and an unique number will be generate for tracking pruposes.

Once the data is entered by the member they cannot change it but can view other peoples data aswell.

Basically I am trying to create an event register for th Charitable organisation where people enter the data and can read the unique event number.

any suggestions please

Re: How to create a Tracking App

make the structure on some database you want for ex sharepoint list, create the columns that you need to be filled, and then click on powerapps above or go to powerapps and connect to this data source,

PA will generate a simple and very usefull app with your columns with a form, new form/edit form and consulting that may be what you want..

then you just adjust for your needs,

if i am not wrong in this sample app you cant delete records (im not sure), but you can remove the trash icon aswell

Re: How to create a Tracking App

Hi @MartinOS,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you want to create a tracking app using PowerApps?

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I think PowerApps could achieve your needs.

Firstly, before creating a tracking app, you must provide a data source (e.g. a SP list) to store the Aid Events. The data source (e.g. a SP list) must contain the MemberName, EventDate, AidEventID (generated automatically), EventDetail, etc.

In addition, you should create a SP group within your SP Site, then assign only Create and View permission (of your SP site) to this group. After that, add these Aid members into this group.

More details about creating a group in SP Site and assign proper permission, please check the following video:

After you created your data source, you could consider take a try to generate an app based on this data source (e.g. a SP list). I have made a test on my side, the generated app would show up as below:1.JPG

Select the AidEventID data card and unlock it, then select the Text Input control wihtin the AidEventID data card, and set the Default property of this Text Input control to following:

GUID()          /* <-- Generate a GUID string automatically */

Above formula would generate a unique GUID string as a unique AidEventID.2.JPG

More details about generating an app based on a SP list, please check the following article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/app-from-sharepoint

More details about the GUID() function, please check the following article:
