How to set lookup dropdown in New Form from a variable

How to set lookup dropdown in New Form from  a variable?

I have one variable that I set in the first screen and New form in the second screen. I want to set lookup drop-down's default value to the variable I set in first screen so users don't need to select from the list. That varriable value is already exists in the dropdown lookup values so I'm not setting something unique, Just the value from the values already in the lookup list.

I'm able to display the variable value on drop-down "DefaultSelectedItems" property but when I try to Submit the form it throw an error and I have to select the value from the drop-down again to save it.

Re: How to set lookup dropdown in New Form from a variable

When it's about writing the value back by submitting the form you have to connect the update property off the datacard to your control. So select the datacard template (basically the total datacard) and then add to the datacard update:

Control.Selected.[ParametertoWrite]

The parameter which you want to write must be accepted by your table, so if this is an id then this id has to be a column in the combobox.

btw to set the combobox default property you best use the formula:

LookUp(DataSource, [FieldToMatch] = Parent.Default)

Basically the combobox is a list off objects, so you set a objects as the default.

Hope this is clear and helps.
