How to show a field in the detail form

Hi all,

I have this problem with powerapps.

I'm trying to create a ticketing app by combining 2 lists 'Emergency issue' and 'Contact'.

In the Edit Form the field Agent works fine (it is connected with the list 'Contact' but at the end when I want to show the ticket with all the informations, the field Agent doesn't appear on the screen.

why is it not showing it?

see the attachments as below.

Thanks

It worked in an other way.

I put choise('Emergency Issues'.Agent) in Items for both datacard and it worked.

anyway, thanks for your help. 🙂

Re: How to show a field in the detail form

Hi,

Your DefaultSelectedItems is blank in the second screenshot.

Set it to ThisItem.Agent and that should fix it.

Re: How to show a field in the detail form

I tried, but it still doesn't work. It doesn't appear.

So, I have 2 lists in sharepoint:

The first list is 'Contacts'Contacts.JPG

The second list is 'Emergency Issues'

Emergency.JPG

I'm trying to insert the NAME of the agent from the firts list to AGENT in the second list.

I don't know how to join the 2 list ('Contacts'.Nome to 'Emergency Issues'.Agent) in the right mode.

edit form works fine with the Contacts list

detail form doesn't work just for the Agent.

Thanks

Re: How to show a field in the detail form

Sorry, I have only just realised that your 'Items' (i.e. your source) is different. I now understand your problem better.

My suggestion;

In SharePoint List 'Emergency Issues', go into List Settings (top right corner) and create a new column. Format the column to be a Lookup and select the 'Contacts' list as the source (Get Information From). Under 'Add a column to show each of these additional fields', select 'Agent' and Save.

This will mean that you will only require one form/source in Powerapps, as the lists will be linked in the background by SharePoint.

Make sure that your form DataSource is set to 'Emergency Issues'.

Hope this helps.

Re: How to show a field in the detail form

In reference to the above reply, you should name the new column to 'Agent' etc.

the column Agent was already a lookup field.

I fix with 'Emergency Issues'.agent, and now there is just SNP.

Before there were other 2 records in the 'Contacts' list, so it didn't work in that way, because i would like to use the app to insert the problem and and insert who was the agent.

i would like to insert all those informations and find the contacts in the dropdown

Re: How to show a field in the detail form

So is it working as you would like it to or is there still a problem?

Re: How to show a field in the detail form

No, it's not working, because i would like to select the agent in the dropdown, but in this case you see just SNP and not the other contacts.

It doesn't work the response in the detail form as well. the field is still blank.result2.JPG

Re: How to show a field in the detail form

Ok, if you simply want the name to be in there, both of your forms' DataSource would have to be 'Emergency Issues'.

First, change the property of the column in sharepoint of 'Agent' to Single Line of Text in the Emergency Issues list. Do not change the column in the 'Contacts' list.

After that, in PowerApps, in the 'Agent' datacard, (e.g. Agent_Datacard1 in the form which is submitted), click on Insert tab, Control and Dropdown.

Set the 'Items' of this dropdown to Contacts.FirstName

Click on the DataCardValueXX (e.g. DataCardValue13) for Agent_DatacardX and set the 'Default' property to DropdownX.Selected.Value

You can make the DataCardValueXX invisble to prevent users being confused.

Please let me know if it doesn't work for you

Please make sure that BOTH of your forms' DataSource is 'Emergency Issues'.

A form can only pull in data from one source at a time.
