How to submit form for SP List which has column type 'Choice'?

Hi All,

I have sharepoint list 'VolunteerProfile' with 'ExpertizeSkillSet' and 'SkillSetInterested' with Choice column (Can add manually enabled)

I wanted to use Gallery with Checkbox in Datacard to multi select the values (The values are listed from another list 'Skills' from 'Skill' (Title) column which has Single line as text type)

and submit the form. I tried for past two days but no luck how to pass it in update parameter. I tried Patch, concat nothing is working for me.

Any suggestions will be really helpful.

Hi @Guru6 ,

Firstly, you will need Collections to temporarily store the checked values in the Gallery, take ExpertizeSkillSet column as example:

OnCheck:

Collect(colExpertizeSkillSet, ThisItem.Value)

OnUncheck:

RemoveIf(colExpertizeSkillSet,Value = ThisItem.Value)

Then use the collection colExpertizeSkillSet in Update of the DataCard.

Hi Jefferni,

Thanks for your suggestion. I was able to store it using this method. But unable to display back (checkbox tick for already selected and submitted form) for the same user. Any suggestions?

Hi @Guru6 ,

You can initialize the variable OnSelect of the main Gallery first

ClearCollect(colExpertizeSkillSet, ThisItem.ExpertizeSkillSet)

then compare the sub Gallery item with this collection:

!IsBlank(LookUp(colcolExpertizeSkillSet, Value = ThisItem.Value))

Could you please elaborate this further? Inside form I have DataCard for ExpertizeSkillset field. I have added Gallery and inside that I added Checkbox.

I couldn't understand Main gallery and sub gallery. Please help me understand. Thanks in advance !

Hi @Guru6 ,

I was assuming that you have a main Gallery for selecting item from. But if you are using SharePoint customized forms, you can also initialize the collection OnVisible of the Screen:

ClearCollect(colExpertizeSkillSet, SharePointIntegration.Selected.ExpertizeSkillSet)

Sub Gallery I mentioned is the Gallery inside a DataCard.

Hi Jefferni,

Though I use Sharepoint customized forms, I removed all the connections and inserted new screen. How do I define in that scenario? My Form is set to visible on click event in Home Page. I added Sharepoint list as connector.
When a user clicks on the button, it lists the current user's profile including the skillset where the user can update using the checkbox. I hope I explained the context better this time. Please let me know your suggestions.

Hi @Guru6 ,

I cannot tell there is any difference to the default customized form. Maybe you can share the screen of the form, as well as its Item property and Gallery's Items property.

Best regards,

The above is my home page. If the user clicks on 'My Profile' form will be made visible.

On click, the below form will be made visible. User can multi- select the Expertize Skills and Interested Skills.

I made the drop-down visible as I'm testing.
