I broke down and did an 'import from excel' for my Employee Directory since I have 14k team members in the company. This worked, and I get exactly what I need out of it and refreshing the data on a regular schedule is not a difficult task.
What I'm wanting to do though is give users the ability to hit a button after their search and export the results of the search displayed in the gallery to excel.
Anyone do this and know the process? Examples would be very helpful.

@BCBuizer that video was fantastic! Got me exactly where I needed to be with a few minor edits since I couldn't use the users OneDrive. I had to put the file on a public folder in SharePoint which is perfectly fine for me! I appreciate the assist!
