Images from SQL Server in a Gallery

I am trying to display images in a auto-height gallery sourced from a VARBINARY(MAX) column in SQL Server. However, most of the images do not display. After some digging, I realized the missing images had a width and height of 0. I am using Image.CalculateOriginalDimensions=true, Image.Height=Self.OriginalHeight, Image.Width=Self.OriginalWidth. When displayed outside of a gallery, they display correctly with those settings. Any thoughts as to why these images don't consistently display within the gallery?
