Implementing Zoom Feature on a Camera

Hello I built a Power App for our team that allows team members to take pictures of items. Often times the pictures that are being taken are small labels and one team member requested that a zoom feature be built into the app.

I have looked high and low for an answer and I can't seem to find a solution for this.

Do you know an easy way to implement this possibly with the slider into a Power App?

Best,

Jules

Hi @caruso1058 ,

There is no way you can maximize the preview of the camera control (it will get expand as per the device), I have tested it with a mobile phone and an iPad. What I have seen is in iPad the view automatically a little bit bigger. To the max what you can do is, add a gallery with the max view and provide a delete icon for each entry. This will if the team member wants to take the picture again he/she can take it one more time.

I hope this resolved your issue if you see any challenge/need further help please let me know I am always happy to do it for my community.

Regards,
Krishna

Hi @caruso1058 ,

The zoom function is not supported in Camera control in PowerApps, please consider submitting a idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum.

However, as an alternative workaround,  please try to use Add Picture control, which calls the device's native camera to take pictures, so you can take advantage of the zooming function that comes with the system camera to achieve your need.

Hope this helps.
