In App Call / Email Logging

From an app generally used on phones, we'd like to:

  1. Have a link or button the user can click to start a call
  2. Prompt the user to log the call the details when they hang up

We'd also like to:

  1. Have a link or button the user can click to start an email (they generally use the Outlook app on iOS for email)
  2. Capture the email text in the app

Basically, we'd like to auto-log the email body, and give the user the chance to log the call details.

Are either of these things currently possible?

Hi @hilary_stoupa,

For your first question, do you want to have a link or button the user could click to start a call or start an email?

If you want to have a link or button the user could click to start a call or start an email, I think the Launch function could achieve your needs within PowerApps.

If you want to start a call via click a Button, please take a try with the following formula:

Launch("tel:"&"Your Phone Number")

If you want to start an email via click a Button, please take a try with the following formula:

Launch("mailto:"&"The email address you want to send email?subject=xxxxx& body=xxxxxxx& cc=xxxxxx& bcc=xxxx...")

Please check and see if the following thread would help in your scenario:

Please also check and see if the following blog would help in your scenario:

For your second question, do you want to prompt the user to log the call the details when they hang up or capture the email text within an app automatically?

If you want to prompt the user to log the call the details when they hang up or capture the email text within an app automatically, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in PowerApps currently.

If you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:

Kris

You captured the second question correctly - I'd suspected there wasn't a way to do this, but appreciate the confirmation. Thanks for your help.
