Incompatible types for comparison record, text

Hi there,

i am sure this is just a minor thing for you but i tried several options and failed miserable:

Filter(portfolio_selection,´'cartridge'=CartridgeSelector.Selected.Value)

This filter produces the error message incompatibel types. "Cartridge" is a column in a SharePoint list configured as choice. CartridgeSelector is a combo box working with text.

I am very thankful for your support!

Best regards

Johannes

I just booted up powerapps to double check the sharepoint formatting i usually use (dataverse and sometimes SQL)

the filter should be:

Filter(portfolio_selection,'cartridge'.Value=CartridgeSelector.Selected.Value)

I think the issue might be the items property of CartridgeSelector needs to reference the choice column. could you share what the items property is.

if there is no choice that matches the needs of this combobox what happens if you try:

Filter(portfolio_selection,´Text('cartridge')=CartridgeSelector.Selected.Value)

The item property of the combo box is:

["1.0 ml","3.0 ml", "1.0 ml dual chamber","no cartridge"]

Exactly the same typing like in the SharePoint choice column.

what happens when you make the items:

Choices(portfolio_selection.´'cartridge')

also i am not sure if you need the ' around cartridge but you added them so i kept them in case.

Unfortunately this is not working as expected. I also receive a delegation warning, that the Filter might not work correctly on large data sets.

Filter(portfolio_selection,Text('cartridge')=CartridgeSelector.Selected.Value)

What if you make the Items of CartridgeSelector into:

Choices(portfolio_selection.´'cartridge')

and left your filter as:

Filter(portfolio_selection,´'cartridge'=CartridgeSelector.Selected.Value)

i highlighted in red .Value as sometimes it is needed, sometimes it isnt and sometimes it is called something elselike .cartridge

At least the CartridgeSelector change worked. It grabbed the choices from the SharePoint list.

If i now change the Filter to:

Filter(portfolio_selection,'cartridge'=CartridgeSelector.Selected)

I receive the error message that there are incompatible types record, record

If i change it to
Filter(portfolio_selection,'cartridge'=CartridgeSelector.Selected.Value)

we are back to the record, text issue

if i change it to

Filter(portfolio_selection,'cartridge'=CartridgeSelector.Selected.cartridge)

Its record,error message

I just booted up powerapps to double check the sharepoint formatting i usually use (dataverse and sometimes SQL)

the filter should be:

Filter(portfolio_selection,'cartridge'.Value=CartridgeSelector.Selected.Value)
