Insert new item update all canvas ?

my PowerApps is slow !

So to understand that I tried to use the new Monitor feature.

When I insert new row in of my DataSource (with patch method), Monitor show me that all other canvas where control (like Gallery, DatacardValue....) use that DataSource are updated... It take 2 to 4 second to do that.

I thought that only current Canvas (or may be 2 or 3 last canvas in memory) would be updated and not all !

Is there a way to change that or I use it badly ?

Thanks a lot for your help

It would be helpful for the community to know a few more things about your issue in order to provide a relevant answer

  • What code are you using to execute the PATCH?
  • What are you using as a datasource?
  • What does the general structure of your data look like?

Re: Insert new item update all canvas ?

hello mdevaney,

  • my datasource is a SharePoint list with less than 10 colums (text and choices) and less than 100 rows. This Datasource is link with another datasource using ID

  • I tried Patch  : Patch(PLNUM_Fiches;Defaults(PLNUM_Fiches);{Title:"New"};{ID_Fiche:Itemencours.ID};{Jalon:First(Choices(PLNUM_Fiches.Jalon))};{Mois_Liv:First(Choices(PLNUM_Fiches.Mois_Liv))};{Moi_Liv_retard:First(Choices(PLNUM_Fiches.Mois_Liv))})

  •  Update and also EditForm have the same behavior update all Canvas

Re: Insert new item update all canvas ?

Hi @Pickthor ,

Since all the controls that need to update is use the same data source, so if the data source updates, all the controls will update.

Updating action will act at the same time.

Maybe you should consider improve your app.

Here are some tips about this for your reference:

What's more, I suggest you try to use collection.

Saving some data in collection will help a lot.

Loading collection will not cost time and data storage in PowerApps.
