Is it Possible to update Request Submitted thru PowerApps at Sequentials Approval using Flow

Hi @v-xida-msft

I have a PowerApp form holding approvals workflow.

Once i submit request/Item in PowerApps , it will hit to the Approver X and Once Approver X - Approves it then it will hit to Approver Y then Approver Y need to update Some fields in PowerApps Request /Item before/after approving from his end.

Can you please tell me how to update the fields in PowerApps so that the workflow gets updated as well.

Thanks

Lohitha

You would want to try to keep track of the state of the Approval by using something like a CDS record (best fit of your choice) to track the progress or state of each Approval, and this is checked by retrieving it through Gallery or otherwise.

Then in the state of pre-Y you would have the edit form in that case, otherwise it is hidden.

This is somewhat advanced so more detail may be warranted here, however it is something we would like to leave up to your imagination for now and you can start trying it and if you want coming back with specific questions.

Hi @LohithaSannathi ,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you want to send a approval email after you submit a record using your canvas app?

Further, which data source do you use in your app? SP List data source?

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I think the combination of Power Automate (MS Flow) and PowerApps could achieve your needs. I have made a test on my side, please consider take a try with the following workaround:

embed the App Url Link of your canvas app within the Details field of the "Approval" action along with a ID parameter.

Note: The URL should be enclosed in angle brackets (<>) to meet the Markdown syntax

Then within your canvas app, set the OnStart property of App to following:

Set(ItemID, Param("ID"));
If(
   !IsBlank(ItemID),
   Navigate(EditScreen1)
)

within the Edit screen, set the Item property of the Edit form to following:

If(
   !IsBlank(ItemID),
   LookUp('Your SP List', ID = ItemID),
   BrowseGallery1.Selected
)

Please consider take a try with above solution, check if the issue is solved.

Please check and see if the following threads would help in your scenario:
