Is it possible for old requests will not be impacted by new form change?

Hello,

I have 1 Canvas apps with 5 text fields, published with version 1.0.

Then I created 2 requests based on this version.

I added with a new text field. Published with version 2.

My old 2 requests will auto added this new one.

Is it possible for old requests will not be impacted by new form change?

Because they were already submitted and closed.

Thank you

Khoa

In this case, we need to rely on the date that the process changed. So form should be disabled if anything before the process change date. Something like

Set the default mode of  the form to

If(DateValue("11/12/2021") > BrowseGallery1.Selected.Created, FormMode.Edit, FormMode.View)

Or we need to store some release numbers on each record so that we can validate when some process changes.

Hi @anhkhoab

Publishing a version means for UI only not for data. This means Data will not be impacted. If you want to restrict the submitted data then we can use the filter. For example, assume you have a gallery then filter the galley using Status column to not to display SUbmitted and Closed

Set the items property of Gallery to

    Sort(
        Filter(
            SPList,
            StatusColumn.Value <> "Submitted" || StatusColumn.Value <> "Closed"
        ),
        Title
    )

Thank you Stalin.

Your proposed solution that will not work for new requests  if there statuses are closed, submitted I believe.

Thanx

Hi @anhkhoab

I assume our goal is not to show once submitted or closed regardless of the version. We may publish the app X number of times.

If you are looking really based on version then the row should be having which version was used so that we can filter. Ideally, we need some data to filter it out.

Can you please clarify the business goal of this requirement?

Hello Stalin,

BRD:: when a process (request) became obsolete then it should be not be changed /impacted by new process.

Any chance to manually control the version of apps? I think it is auto generated.

The version number is auto-generated. It auto-generates whenever we save and in that, one of them is published version at any given time. We may have a lot of versions but only one published version.

In this case. version 213 are published and the next one maybe 216. One other problem using this auto-generated version number is not easy to get the published version when it goes more than 100.
