Tested again, and I found I am wrong about Power BI and the View, it works. Apologize for that.

HI, I believe that Power BI (and Excel Power Query) support views from SQL server. Certainly Excel Power BI supports views from Access Web Apps, which are a form of SQL server.
Just in case anyone comes to this ... you can now connect to a view (well, on an Azure SQL Database) ... I am already doing it.
