Is it possible to get the url of an image stored as an Azure Blob

Hi,

I have successfully managed to upload a camera image into Azure (stored as a blob along side an excel file).

I now need to somehow get a link to that image in azure.

The images come back in  a gallery, but only display the image.

I cannot find a link to that image.

Any feedback would be great.

Thank you

OK, but if you want a clickable link then you could probably just use an HTML text control instead of a normal text box.

Something like this...

HtmlText1.HtmlText = "<a href="&SitePhotos.Image&">My image</a>"

This way you would avoid the C# api.

Anyway, just some thoughts.

Would you be willing to share the code you used to get the image into an Azure blob - there doesn't seem to be a ton of documentation about this.

Re: Is it possible to get the url of an image stored as an Azure Blob

Hi,

You need to upload an excel spreadsheet into azure blob storage, I used Azure Storage Explorer 6 to do this.

I named mine Pictures.xlsx

For some reason I had a lot of difficulty creating a valid spreadsheet that Azure could pick up. I copied the test spreadsheet from the Site Inspection Demo provided by Microsoft.

Inside that spreadsheet, you MUST add a heading in that table called image[image]

This is a copy of mine.

Now in Powerapps, Add a connection to your azure blob account and select the Pictures.xlsx, then select the table name, which is also the name of the sheet you are using in Pictures.xlsx

In powerapps I am using Patch to then add to that database. I am getting my images from a collection called Pictures, you could just do this straight from a camera click.

Site Photos is the name of the sheet inside my Pictures.xlsx

Patch(SitePhotos, Defaults(SitePhotos), {image: First(Pictures.Image).Image, IssueTitle : First(Pictures.IssueTitle).IssueTitle})

This should hopefully add pictures to your Azure Blob storage

Hope this helps

Re: Is it possible to get the url of an image stored as an Azure Blob

Hi, it would seem to me that the link to the image is just SitePhotos.Image

If you set this as the image property of an image control then you see the image, if you set it as the text property of a text box then you should see the link text.

Please let me know if this does not answer your original question.

Re: Is it possible to get the url of an image stored as an Azure Blob

Hi,

Thank you for your reply!

The link to the image in Powerapps I believe is unclickable, and I don't think you can copy and paste it out.

I've come up with the solution of writing a c# api to fetch all the images from azure blob and return the azure blob url back to me in powerapps. This suits my needs.

Thank you

Re: Is it possible to get the url of an image stored as an Azure Blob

With this info I was able to add files to Azure Blob storage and use it. I do not understand what any of the documentation about the Azure Blob Storage connection is about - it mentions nothing about this. Perhaps the Site Inspection Demo has some info in there then that helps peel back the magic. I would have never found out how to use this without the info you provided.

If I could give more than 1 Kudos I would. Thanks EdLeeman!
