Is it possible to populate a text field in a canvas app with Portal information?

I am aware that it's possible to populate text fields using User().FullName, but is it possible to populate it with text from the Portal where the canvas app is embedded in? Like for example the current logged in Portal authenticated user.

I fixed the issue by making the text field in the canvas app get the parameter from the url to populate it. Then when I called the canvas app in the Portal via iframe, I just added the parameter in the src link in the iframe tag.
