Issue with Filter Formula from one gallery to another

Hello,

I have been scrambling for days with this, and haven't been able to solve it.

I have 2 galleries, using a sharepoint list each as datasource.

The first gallery, "StrategyPillars_gallery", pulls data from Sharepoint List "Strategy Pillars", which has only one column "StrategicPillar".

The second gallery "Workstreams_gallery", pulls data from Sharepoint List "Workstreams", which has 3 columns: "StrategicPillar" (a lookup column from the "Strategy Pillars" list), "Workstream" and "Lead Organization".
I want the app to work as following: When I click a Strategic Pillar on the first gallery, it filters all the different workstreams within that selected pillar on the second gallery.

My formula is written: Filter(Workstreams,StrategicPillar=StrategyPillars_gallery.Selected.Workstream)

I keep getting an issue that says "Invalid argument type", which highlights location "Workstreams_gallery.Items"

Please help!!

Re: Issue with Filter Formula from one gallery to another

UPDATE!
Solved it myself...

The formula was missing a .Value, and instead of referencing 'Workstream' column at the end, I just referenced 'StrategicPillar'.

Filter(Workstreams,StrategicPillar.Value=StrategyPillars_gallery.Selected.StrategicPillar)

I added Workstream as the Field to be shown on Gallery Properties, so now it shows the correct data.

Thanks anyway!!

Re: Issue with Filter Formula from one gallery to another

Are you missing the reference to the StrategicPillar column? Try this:

  Filter(Workstreams,StrategicPillar=StrategyPillars_gallery.Selected.Workstream.StrategicPillar)

It seems you're comparing a StrategicPillar to a Workstream.

Re: Issue with Filter Formula from one gallery to another

Additional clarification:

The "Strategy Pillars" List is setup as below:

StrategicPillar

Pillar A

Pillar B

Pillar C

And the "Workstreams" List is setup as:

StrategicPillar           Workstream               Lead Organization

Pillar A                      Workstream 1             HR

Pillar A                      Workstream 2             Finance

Pillar A                      Workstream 3             Marketing

Pillar B                      Workstream 4             Finance

.....

Could it be an issue with the internal ID of the columns being different than what's in the column names? Both "Strategic Pillar" and "Workstream" columns were initially labeled "Title" prior to me renaming them to what they are now. I really think that is not the issue, since Power apps seems to be recognizing the columns (even suggests them) as I type in the formula. But, that might be relevant information to solving the issue... I don't know...
