Its possible to hide "New" and "Delete" buttons from model-driven app?

It's possible to hide "New" and "Delete" buttons from a model-driven app? I don´t want to show these buttons to my users, or at least I don´t want to allow them to add or delete a row.  What is the best way to do that?

Give your users a security role that doesn't allow them to Create or Delete that entity, and those buttons will no longer appear when that user is viewing the grid.
