Large amount of work lost; no versions appear saved in PowerApps

I worked on a draft app between 1st and 19th August 2019.  The work was autosaved and also manually saved approx every 20 minutes or so.

 

I recently checked the app, and there are no saved versions past 11th August 2019.

 

What has gone wrong here? Is the work recoverable? Was this the result of a server failure, for example?

I would raise a support issue via the 'create support ticket' button here:

https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/support/

There are examples on this forum where Microsoft have recovered work following the deletion of environments, and I would hope that they can recover your work too.

IMO, any user that 'manually' saves a piece of work should not expect that work to disappear without warning after some ad-hoc period of time. If that's the case, that behaviour shouldn't be right.

To the best of my knowledge versoins are not saved indefinately.  I think they are only saved for 60 or 90 days, which would fit the timing your are reporting. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to retrieve versions older than that.

I have versions spanning all the way back to 2017

Save will just create a minor version, Publishing will create a major version
