Launch URL from SharePoint List

Hi all,

I have a gallery called VenueForm which contains a button to launch a URL. The URL is stored in a SharePoint List called 'West Sector Venues' in a column called Details_URL.

I have tried multiple ways to get the URL to launch when you press the button but it refuses to launch. The Data source in PowerApps is connected successfully and the Field is available in the gallery. I previously was able to launch when the data was stored in an Excel file but my company wants everything in SharePoint instead. I've even tried launching the actual URL directly - OnSelect= Launch("https://exampleblahblahblah") but this still didn't work.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to what I'm missing please?

Many thanks

Steve

Hi @CTUBeaty ,

Could you tell me the data type of .Details_URL and Street_View?

Whether do you want to use this button in a standalone app or sharepoint custom form?

I've made a similar test:

In my test, the columns that used to record URL is text(test1) and hyderlink(test2) type.

1)use this button in  standalone app

insert a gallery, set the gallery's Item to this list

insert two buttons inside the gallery

set button1's OnSelect:

Launch(ThisItem.test1)

set button2's OnSelect:

Launch(ThisItem.test2)

And then when I click button1 and button2, it will launch that item's url.

2)use this button is sharepoint custom form

insert two buttons

set button1's OnSelect:

Launch(SharePointIntegration.Selected.test1)

set button2's OnSelect:

Launch(SharePointIntegration.Selected.test2)

Then if you click button1 and button2, it will launch this item's url.

Hi @CTUBeaty

I carried out a test on my side and not able to reproduce the issue that you mentioned. Can you share more details about the button configuration?

Make sure that this button's alignment is on the top. You can check the order from the left menu. If there is any other control that might be overlapping with the button, it will not work.

Hope this Helps!
