Launch the new item form customized with power apps

Hi,

I have a SharePoint list customized with PowerApps. I created a link on the quick launch which reads "Create New" and has the following associated link with it to launch the New form.

/sites/myprojectsite/_layouts/15/listform.aspx?PageType=8&ListId={9E50C935-FB8D-40BF-B662-AA0F89FF8EF3}

However, when users click on "Create New" link, it is launching the New form that is not customized with Power Apps. Is this a known issue?

Or is there something that I need to add in the url that will open up the form that is customized with PowerApps ?

Thanks,

I've brought this to the attention of @anees and @shekz who may be able to provide clarification.

hi @cooltechie,

I made a test. There's no issue on my side.

/sites/22/_layouts/15/listform.aspx?PageType=8&ListId=%7BE2C55BCD-6544-4749-8EF4-26C5AE760AE8%7D

please try to create a custom form and check if it is solved.

you can try to use below link:

/sites/myprojectsite/lists/[listname]/NewForm.aspx

regards,

Eason

Hi @cooltechie are you still experiencing this issue?

I have the same issue...

Following link doesn't work. Instead of custom form it opens legacy SP form

/sites/myprojectsite/lists/[listname]/NewForm.aspx

Same issue here and I don't know how some have commented that they do not have the problem... I believe they never understood the problem to begin with.  It appears to be systemic.  I can only open my customized Power Apps SharePoint list form by browsing to the list and then clicking the New button there.  I cannot link to the "newform" Power Apps form, in any way.  Any hyperlink direct to a new item will result in opening the SharePoint out-of-the-box form, not the Power App.

We need HYPERLINKS to new forms to work for Power Apps, not for SharePoint out-of-the-box forms, but for Power Apps.

MSFT support identified the root cause and provided a resolution!

So the reason in following two columns: Number of Likes & Number of Ratings

All you have to do to get rid of legacy form is delete these two columns. Hope it helps.

Hey!  Thank you so much for the recommendation... I'm sure it will help some but in my case I do not have those columns to begin with.  I'm pretty sure there are more reasons why this could be happening.  But again, thank you for the suggestion.

I believe I may have a solution @PHemingway610  & @cooltechie. The solution takes advantage of deeplinking and passing a parameter to a PowerApp via URL.

Your external link would look like: https://[yourSite]/[yourAppID]?[yourParameter]=[x]

[yourParameter] = any unique string, lets call it 'NEW'

[x] = any value you want to perform a logic test, lets call it 'Y'

In your app, your OnStart event will need some variation of this formula:

If(Param("NEW")="Y", Navigate([yourEditScreen]); NewForm([yourEditFormName]) ; [some other operation] )

In my case the parameter I am passing to my PowerApp form populates some form values hence why I included other operations on the logic if the condition is true.

I hope this helps you.

I won't be able to try this out for a while, but thank you!
