Like/Unlike button

So I was wondering if the like button was possible that when a person hit the button, it added up to the like counter and if they hit it again it would decrease the counter and so forth.

I got the part for when users add up likes, but thinking of seeing how to make it so  that when they click again the like counter decreases.

For better view of what I'm trying to replicate see attachment.

Thank you in advanced!

Re: Like/Unlike button

You're possibly going to have to store another list somewhere keeping track of which users like which item.  Then clicking the 'Like' button will add or remove them appropriately.  A SharePoint list with 2 columns, one for the ID of the item and one for a People picker would do it.  Its a bit compicated to explain in a forum like this but its an interesting problem and I'd be interested in solving it.

I feel a blog post coming on
