List Box Reset not working

I found a workaround for resetting a drop down box on the forum, which I have been able to replicate successfully. The solution was to set a button's OnSelect property to:

OnSelect = UpdateContext({ResetVar: true});UpdateContext({ResetVar: false})

Then, the Reset property for the drop down control is set to:

Reset = ResetVar

To test this, I created a text box that displays the actual selected value of the drop down. As expected, when I choose an item, this text box automaticaly displays the item I chose. Then, when I click the Reset button, the drop down is cleared, as well as the text box.

For a better UI, I would like to change these drop downs to a list box. I tried the same setup as above to reset the list box, and the button resets the list box itself, but my verification text box does not reset; it keeps the value that was last selected. Screen shots are attached.

Do I have to do something differently for this to work on a list box?

Re: List Box Reset not working

Hi @AJZoerner,

Please leave the ListBox control Default property blank.

And the Items property with the one you configured.

Doing it in this way should clear the selected value of the listbox, for the dropdown, leave the propery as you configured.

This way should work.

Re: List Box Reset not working

Hi @AJZoerner,

I have some updates here.

For the Reset property of the ListBox, when reseting, it will change the control to display the value configured in the default property.

For ListBox, in order to make the Reset work, please take a try to set a value from the ListBox option (value within the Items), this way should make it work.

Michael

Re: List Box Reset not working

Hello @v-micsh-msft,

I believe this is what I am trying to do in the first place. See below for more detail on the properties I've set for each control. I have set the default as "", so that it will go back to being blank on reset:
