List Not Saving Prefilled Default Value

I have a gallery made from an Excel spreadsheet, and the row you select is set to varRecord and then creates a NewForm. In the form, I want the column "Project Objective" autofilled with information from that Excel spreadsheet, so I have the default set to varRecord.Objective (the corresponding column in the spreadsheet) and the card is set to display view. The information is correctly autofilled from the spreadsheet, but when the form is submitted the info is not stored in my list. Any help would be appreciated!

Set the default/text property in the texpinput inside your datacard to this value instead.

Also ensure that the 'update' property in the datacard is set to 'YourDataCardValue.Text' (replacing the red with the name of the control inside the datacard).
