ListBox selection lost when filtering

Hi,

When i create a listbox and put a textinput filter on the listbox the previous selected items are lost.

Is this normal behaviour?

1.) I select a few items in the listbox

2.) I now filter the listbox to search for another item and select this item

3.) Previous selection is lost

Many thanks!

Hi,

Understand.

As a workaround:

Have now switched to a gallery where you can make a selection with a checkbox.

On selecting or deselecting the checkbox a collection is updated appropriately so the checkboxes are saved when i filter the gallery.

Hi @Joe_100 ,

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test, and the issue is confirmed on my side.

It is a normal behaviour with List box control. Actually, when you typed search text within the TextSearchbox (TextInput box) to filter your Listbox records, the Listbox would be reset and populated with the filtered result, so the previous selection would be lost.

If you want to remain the previous selection within the Listbox when you filter your List box based on the Text Search box, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in PowerApps currently.

If you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:

Hi @Joe_100 ,

Yeah, I agree with your thought almost. A temporary variable -- collection, could achieve your needs.
