Lookup List not showing as a field within App

Hi there, 

 

Pretty new to the powerapps world so battling through. 

 

We've basically got a column in our Sharepoint list which refers to a lookup list of project numbers. 

 

When I go to add this field, it doesn't even show as an option within the APP, is it not possible or have I missed something? 

 

Basically I don't want free text fields to remove human error.

Use lookup something like this 

LookUp(DataTable, conditions).ColumnValueToDisplay

Do you want to display LookUp field value?

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario, how you add this field, using an Edit Form?

 

Actually, if you have created a LookUp field in your SP list, it will retrieve project numbers from lookup list automatically.

Or if you do not have a LookUp field, you just want to retrieve values from the lookup list using a dropdown control like Combo Box, you should connect both your data source and the lookup list.

I assume that you use a Combo Box to refer to the project numbers. set the Items of the Combo Box as below:

lookuplist.ProjectNumber

Morning, 

 

Thanks for the replies. 

 

Basically I created a LookUp list in Sharepoint like you said in the 2nd part. 

 

When I go to add the field, every column is showing bar the LookUp column I created in Sharepoint. This is what I am wanting, so they can only search or select from project lists. 

 

Image one shows the column which does a lookup for the column "Proj Code". 

 

Image two shows the current layout. 

 

Image three shows that it's not possible to add that "Proj Code" field/column into the app? Proj Code doesn't exist in this area. But every other column bar that one does. So I don't know how to add it? 

 

Basically I want a remote person who does a days work, to submit all the below information. Including being able to use this lookup list.

Do you mean that the 'Proj Code' is the LookUp column in the 'Timesheet Process'?

Could you please tell me that if you created the 'Proj Code' based on another lookup list?

 

Please check the 'Proj Code' in your SP list to see if there is options in the dropdown list. If there is, please try to refresh the data source and add the field one more time.

Or you could  remove the data source and re-add it, then add fields.
