Lookup function for Choice or Vlookup Columns Question

Can I use the lookup function in Powerapps to pull a value from a SharePoint list that is under a Choice or Vlookup column? If so, how? I have attempted to populate a value into a text field using the lookup but nothing shows up. I am trying to pull a value from a SharePoint list based on a drop-down selection that's tied to a vlookup column in another SharePoint list.
