Loop through XML data insert into excel columns

Hi!

I've a flow where we are fetching an XML file from FTP and would like to iterate through it and insert its data into one row in Excel.

Currently, everything is working so far that we can get XML data and do an early xPath so that we have smaller amount of data to work with. We are also able to insert that XML data into one cell in Excel.

My question:

The proof-of-concept I have today is that I can do an xPath for each separate cell I want to insert data in. It has to be a smarter way working with this stuff? Is there any way I can iterate through all elements in my XML data and post in a separate cell in Excel?

Best

Robert

Re: Loop through XML data insert into excel columns

Hi @RobertAreno ,

Do you want to iterate through all elements in your XML data, and then patch the data back to one row in your Excel table?

Based on the needs that you want to achieve, I think agree with your thought almost. I think the xml() expression and xpath() expression could achieve your needs in Power Automate flow.

Please check and see if the following threads would help in your scenario:

I afraid that there is no better solution to achieve your needs in Power Automate currently. If you would like new feature or function to be supported in Power Automate to parse XML data without xpath expression, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:
