MS365/O365 - Cost for Premium Connector to On Premise SQL Server / SQL Azure

Hi All

We have  Microsoft 365 (previously Office 365) subscription with Power Apps, Power Automate. All the Apps and Flows that we built so far connects to SharePoint List (s). We are now planning to make connections to on-premises databases like SQL Server, MySQL or Azure SQL. How much does it cost to go with Premium Connection. Is it on a user basis or connection basis.

Any insights in this regard would be very helpful for us to make a decision, which is cost effective and beneficial.

Hi @MasthanAbukani ,

If you want to access On-premises Connector or Premium connector in Power Apps, you must purchase individual standalone PowerApps License for your account. You should purchase Power Apps Per App Plan (cost $10 user/app/month) for your account at least. But the Power Apps Per App Plan could only support running 2 apps and 1 portal, if you want to run unlimited apps, you should purchase Power Apps Per User Plan (cost $40 user/month).

In addition, standalone PowerApps license could not be shared across your whole tenant, you need to purchase individual license for each user in your Org.

More details about the standalone license supported for PowerApps, please check the following article:

https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/

More details about known limits with PowerApps for Office 365 license, please refer to the following article:

Hi Kris - Thank you very much for your detailed response.

I think microsoft is making a big mistake here. We are 180 users with E3 license and have created a number of apps. This "per user" license for us will be $7200 / month extra for us. This is going to be very expensive. We plan to leave microsoft and create apps directly in ios / android.
