Making a list of tables to open the table you wish to edit

Hello

I am making a PowerApp to edit multiple different Excel tables. If I were to make seperate screens for every table I have I would need over 300 screens... I now have a table with an overview of the names from available tables (generated as Strings). (See image 1.) So if I click on one of my test table names it should open the correct table in a new screen.

I tried using a global variable to save the name of the table you click on as 'TabelKeuze'. So that I could use it to open te corresponding table (see image 2, 'Search([@TabelKeuze];') in a new screen. The problem is that my global variable is a String (the name of the table) and not the table itself, so PowerApps cannot open the table on the new screen. Is there a way to use the String to open the correct table?

Cheers

Arne

Re: Making a list of tables to open the table you wish to edit

Hi @ArneVTR ,

I'm afraid it's not supported to use variable to represent table name in the search function currently in PowerApps.

For now, you could only use the tablename itself directly in this function.

Here's a doc about this function for your reference:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/functions/function-filter-lookup

Based on your description, do you mean that you have many tables with the same structure?

Maybe you could consider using group or component to reduce development complexity.

Many repetitive operations can be omitted, which could save munch time.

Here are docs about group and component for your reference:

I currently worked around it by making one big Switch-statement, this works but is a bit of a mess with around 100 options. Any better solution would be helpfull!
