Microsoft Shifts - Add Employee That is new Hire and not Yet in Active Directory

we are trying to create a schedule for our Hospitalists group.  One question came up, we often have new hires coming and and we have to build out schedules far out.  Sometimes there are timing differences and the employee is not yet in Active Directory and hence I cannot add them to the Microsoft Shifts Schedule. Is there a way to add a fake, or a temporary employee so that these shifts can be assigned to them before they are in active directory?
