Migrating PowerApps Solution across environments - how to handle SharePoint connections?

Hi Folks -

I have created a DEV, TST and PRD environment for my PowerApps as well as added a Solution to each.  My PowerApps using SharePoint lists as a source.

When I am promoting PowerApps changes from DEV to TST to PROD, do I  need to update the connections each time in each environment?  I'm using GitHub to push my app across environments.  I'm wondering how others handle this because if I need to update my connections within each environment every time I promote it's almost not even worth having separate environments..

Thanks!

Hi @simms7400 ,

If they are the same SharePoint lists, then no, you do not need to update anything.

@WarrenBelz  Hi -

Thank you for the reply!  Yes, the list names are identical across all 3 environments. So you're saying it will automatically update to the appropriate connection (DEV,TST, PRD) based on what environment the PowerApp sits in, right?

Hi @simms7400 ,

I did not say the SharePoint list names - the actual lists. If your SharePoint lists are on different sites, then you would have to re-create the connectors. This is not a big deal - if you delete the "old connection" you will get a formula error icon - when you put the new one back, it will disappear. I do mine one at a time to ensure they work.
