Model driven - make a related quick view form component READ-ONLY

I'm trying to use a quick view form to show related data and I do not want the user to be able to update any fields on the Quick View. I've tried changing all the appropriate properties (like read only and lock) and the user can still update the dropdown fields simply by clicking the field and selecting New from the top menu bar and selecting save or save close. I also tried creating a new quick view form which also didn't help. Is there any way to make a quick view form view-only or to make the fields within a quick view form view-only in a model driven app?

Hi @elipolk ,

Please refer to below case from in Dynamics365 forum:

https://community.dynamics.com/365/f/dynamics-365-general-forum/308829/how-to-make-a-sub-grid-read-o...

In that case you will see a URL which could be the solution:

https://www.inogic.com/blog/2017/01/hide-add-button-on-a-subgrid-by-applying-custom-javascript-rule/

Hope this helps.

I'm accepting this as the solution because it appears to be the only solution but I had rather not have to write code in a no-code solution. What is the read-only checkbox for if it doesn't make the field read-only? Is this a bug? The business rule solution (suggested on the sub grid scenario) doesn't appear to be form-specific, so I would have to lock down the whole table, right?
