Multiple Gallery filters to show all results when blank or when 'All' is selected from a dropdown

Hi everyone,

I have managed to use the below formula to filter a gallery by two separate dropdowns and allow for a search across multiple columns in the data.

SortByColumns(
    Search(
        (Filter(AllJobs, Dropdown3.Selected.Value in Area,Dropdown6.Selected.Value in Job_x0020_Stage)),
        textinput4.text,
        "Address",
        "AWMS",
        "S_x002f_O_x0020_ID",
        "Design_x0020_Type"),
    "Address",
    Descending)

I'm looking to achieve either of the two results and need assistance.(No.2 would provide a better end user result)

  1. When Dropdown3 and/or Dropdown6 are blank show all results under both or either of the two filters. - I will still need to be able to use the search filter.
  2. If i had items in the drop downs such as 'All Areas' and 'All Stages' the formula would filter to show all results under both or either of the two filters when they are selected. - Again I will still need to be able to use the search filter.

Hopefully that makes sense! Thanks in advance for any help! 🙂

Hi @Joshy,

Have you tried to filter the table returned by the search function?

Formula should be in the format below:

SortByColumns(
   Filter(
        Search(AllJobs,
                   textinput4.text,
                   "Address",
                   "AWMS",
                   "S_x002f_O_x0020_ID",
                   "Design_x0020_Type"),
        Dropdown3.Selected.Value in Area,
        Dropdown6.Selected.Value in Job_x0020_Stage)),
    "Address",
    Descending)

Michael

Hi @v-micsh-msft,

Thanks for the suggestion, I have added the formula but it doesn't achieve what i'm trying to do which is to have the capability to view all the potential values in dropdown3 and/or dropdown 6 at the same time.

I have seen formulas achieve this by selecting the dropdown as blank and using the 'If' and 'IsBlank' functions but i haven't had any luck building this into my formula.

Regards,

Josh
