Multiple Timers

I am working on my landing page and would like to have the logo fade in using a 4 second timer, overtop a full screen sized opaque rectangle. Then have a 1 second delay.  Then have the logo and rectangle behind fade to transparent fade over 3 seconds.

The only way I can think of achieving this is with 3 sperate timers.  Where upon the prior timers completion it triggers the next timer.  Can we have multiple timers?  Can they trigger another?

Example:

Timer 1 fades overlay on top of logo, then starts Timer 2

Timer 2 counts down 2 seconds, then starts Timer 3

Timer 3 fades logo and rectangle to 100% transparency

I hope one day I can help people like you do @WarrenBelz

Obviously Timer 3 reflects the same patterns

Yes, I did the same for Timer3 but if I get Timer2 to work, then I think Timer3 will be solved then too.

The Transparency of the Images?

Right now I am just trying to get the timers to activate one another in a chain.  I would like to set up a sequence of events after I learn how to do this independently of everything else.

Also just to eliminate the one difference in our models, but the OnVisible code on a button for the moment.

I am not sure what you mean by this.

I would like the first button to Auto Start upon page opening.  I am doing this to make an introduction screen, so Timer1 should auto start, then trigger Timer2...

Thanks @Sacred_Totems , I actually need to know what it is that is not working for you - I answer a lot of posts and it is always good to zero in on similar issues quickly.
I have since tested mine on Screen OnVisible and it works, but a button is always a good test bed and you can always change to screen OnVisible when it is all going.
Back to to the timers - there has to be something missing here. I also used Global Variables on mine, so lets try that.
If you have a new screen I will give you my exact code - start with a Button for the moment Button OnSelect

Set(vTimer,Blank());Set(vTimer,"Start1")

First Timer Duration

3000

Start

vTimer="Start1"

OnTimerEnd

Set(vTimer,"Start2")

Second Timer - Duration

3000

 Start

vTimer="Start2"

OnTimerEnd

Set(vTimer,"Start3")

Third Timer - Duration

3000

 Start

vTimer="Start3"

OnTimerEnd

Set(vTimer,"Blank())

Once this is going, the Image change is not difficult.

Thank you @WarrenBelz

When I use the global variable and the button's OnSelect to start everything it works.  But I can't get the Screen OnVisible to activate the Timer1 button yet.

********* Update again ************

This one works when the app is opened.

I assume your screen is the opening screen - weird but I did this.

App OnStart

Set(vTimer,Blank())

Screen OnVisible

Set(vTimer,"Start1")

Thank you @WarrenBelz

I will take a look at this tomorrow, and find out what I had done differently.  Hopefully this is all I need, and can close this thread.

@WarrenBelz

The last demo you posted definitely does not auto start the timer when I play the app on my system.  It still requires I press the start button.  But it definitely does everything else though. I double checked to make sure it was the right version.

I will close this thread since it looks like auto starting a timer is likely something others will be looking for in the future.  Then I can address the auto-start an entirely separate issue.

Thank you for helping with get the timers to work in sequence.

Hi @Sacred_Totems ,

I think the issue right through this seems to be different behaviors on our respective systems. Below is the latest app playing direct from the list on my system. I am not sure what to test next.

FadeImages.gif

Hi @WarrenBelz - sorry to resurrect an old thread but wondering if you could help me figure this out. What you have done is nearly perfect for what I am trying to achieve, but I can't apply it to a form viewer/card as they don't have a transparency setting.

The workaround I thought of, is to have an opaque white image placed on top of the form viewer that fades to transparent halfway through the timer, then reverts back to opaque to hide the card viewer. I only need 1 transition on this instead of 3, so only 1 timer required.

So I effectively need the opposite of what you have done here. I have been playing around with the settings in the app you uploaded, but I can't get it to work the way I need. Could you possibly help? I'm a complete noob when it comes to this so I have been trying to do understand it with limited success, but I can't get both ends of the fade transition to work!
