I want to create a App for testing something. We have a SQL Database on our Server which contains some Customer Information.
I Want to connect to the Database to get all this Information and searching for Customers. So ... is it neede to install the Gateway on the Server? Iam a beginner and dont really know how to do.
Thanks for every help.
Here is some good information how to setup something like this
And if you need an On-Premises gateway to install.
The gateway doesn't need to be installed on the same server where MySQL is installed.
However if you choose to install it on the same server, it can simplify the setup.
The gateway machine needs to able to connect the MySQL server. Most problems occur when this connection fails, often due to firewall or other network settings (port 3306 needs to be open for MySQL). By installing the gateway on the MySQL server, it minimises the possibility of this problem.
Thank you for your answer but when i try to connect he want defently a Gateway? How can i use it without?
I have made a test db on my webosting which is open to access from remote ... there is no way to install gateway
