Need advice on Date column

I need some general direction.

I run my business from a Sharepoint list.  I record my orders by Order Date which is a Date/Time column.

I am trying to build a powerapp around this list and am running into delegation issues.  I want to be able to show data in a table based on certain criteria.  For instance use a gallery and filter only customer orders > Order Date as an example.  Another example, show all of the orders for February.  Because of the delegation issues I was advised I would need to create another text only field with the date in a certain format to run my filters without delegation issues.   I'm really confused why Microsoft hasn't created an easier way to do what was suggested like Filter(Mytable, orderdate = February) without having to resort to a convoluted process.

Can anyone explain how to get around this delegation issue in detail?  If I create a text only date column why is that better than using a date/time column.

Here is another example of a delegation warning - Text(Sum(Filter('Mprinted Business Operations', Customer = "Axon"),'Client Pymt')) - This gives me the answer I can use in a label but flags a warning about delegation.... argh!!!!!

Check @WarrenBelz ’s blog here https://www.practicalpowerapps.com/delegation/power-apps-delegation-sharepoint/  about 2/3 of the way down the page is an explanation of the shadow date columns, how to use them and why. In Sharepoint, only text and numeric columns are fully delegatable.
