Need help creating a Gallery

Hi all,

I'm pretty new at Powerapps and need some help. I have the Office365Users connector. I'm just trying to create a gallery that has the user's profile info, including picture. When I go to Insert- Gallery I selected Vertical. I don't seem to be able to add my Data Source. When I select Office365Users from the drop down, it still says "None" in the properties field. I assume it wants me to expand the "Items" formula from just Office365Users, but i'm at a loss as to what to put there. I tried Office365Users.MyProfile(), but the data source still says None.

Hi @slan2018 ,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you want to list users' profile from your tenant within the Gallery?

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I think you have some misunderstanding on the data source types supported in PowerApps. The Office 365 Users connector is a action data source (e.g. Office 365 Outlook, Azure, ...etc) rather than table data source (e.g. SP List, SQL Table, .. etc). Currently, within PowerApps, only table data source could be visible within the Data source property of the Gallery control.

I have made a test on my side, please consider take a try with the following workaround:

 Set the Items property of the Gallery to following:

Office365Users.SearchUser({top:999})

Set the Text property of the Label controls in the Gallery to following:

ThisItem.DisplayName
ThisItem.Id
ThisItem.Department
ThisItem.JobTitle

...

...

Set the Image property of the Image control to following:

If(
   Office365Users.UserPhotoMetadata(ThisItem.Id).HasPhoto,
   Office365Users.UserPhotoV2(ThisItem.Id),
   SampleImage
)

Note: Please turn on the "Formula-level error management" option within Advanced settings of App settings of your app.

@slan2018

There's no problem if you use the current version MyProfileV2 in the Items property of the gallery.

Office365Users.MyProfileV2()
