Need help creating an auto incrementing ID with every new row using patch function please

Hi all,

Hoping someone is able to help me please. I am creating an app where dropdowns are populated and then a button can be clicked to patch the selected dropdown values into an excel table, cretaing a new row every time.

I would like to have the first column of the table to include an auto incrementing ID that is assigned when the patch button is pressed in PowerApps. How can I do this?

Many thanks!

Hi @Rootzy

  • Open the excel and Insert column (Assume column 1 which is A)
  • Set the formula to
=ROW(A1)

Select all columns and select table to be accessed from PowerApps.

The auto number should be set automatically whenever a new row inserted

Thanks,
