Need help with a Data Card and Gallery

I am building an application and struggling a little to see if what I want to accomplish can happen.  So I have an edit form that has all of my fields necessary. What I was wanting to do was have the "Part Number" Data Card be autofilled based on a SQL filter for the Work Order #. I was able to figure out the filter, however, it seems like I can't have it populate the data card value as I have to use a Gallery and label to display it. I can't remove Part Number as I need that to be updated in my data source.

I have my gallery and label at the bottom of the form. Is there a way to have Part Number data card value reference the label's ThisItem.PartNum? Or any other suggestions??

Hi,

As i am able to understand from your query that you wanting to do was have the "Part Number" Data Card be autofilled based on a SQL filter for the Work Order #. So you can do that by unlocking the data card and use the lookup function in text of that datacard by giving workorder$ reference.

Second, you want to have Part Number data card value reference in the gallery's label, so use the button of submit form and submit the form you can use the lookup.

LookUp(SourceFile, ID=FormName.LastSubmit.ID).PartNumber or you can use the same lookup in gallery label which you use for workorder.

Hope it will help.

Hi @Danny_L ,

Do you want "Part Number" Data Card to be autofilled with data in your sql table?

Could you tell me:

1)the form's Item?

2)what filter rule do you want this datacard based on? (a SQL filter for the Work Order #)

3)the gallery and the datacard's relationship?

Usually, if you went one textinput display one value by default, you just need to :
1)unlock that datacard

2)set the textinput's Default to one value that you want, for example:

ThisItem.PartNum

Hi.

Sorry I'm new to this Forum and I thought I already replied to the previous answer.

I was able to do a Lookup and accomplish what I needed. Did a Lookup against the Work Order# and had the Part Number and Version (two diff text boxes) populate. Man I love Power Apps

Hi @Danny_L ,

So have your issue been solved?

Do you have any other problems?

If not , could you mark my answer as solution?

Thanks!
