Needing to convert inches fraction to ft'in"

I am attempting to allow a user to input inches into a field (example: 65 3/8) and another field convert this to show in ft'in" (example result: 5'5 3/8").

What formula do I use to accomplish this? I have been asking Chat GPT with no luck.

Let's say the name of the text input where the user enters the input value is txtInputValue

The default property of the text input control that shows the output will look like this.

``````With({input:txtInputValue.Text},
With({val:Value(First(Split(input, " ")).Value)},
Int(val/12)&"' " & Mod(val,12) & """ " & Last(Split(input, " ")).Value
)
)``````
I have a post here that describes the logic for this task.
http://powerappsguide.com/blog/post/converting-centimeters-meters--to-feet-and-inches
Here's an adaptation of the formula to handle the fractional component of the input:
``````With({input:"65 3/8"},
With({val:Value(First(Split(input, " ")).Value)},
Int(val/12)&"' " & Mod(val,12) & """ " & Last(Split(input, " ")).Value
)
)``````

@timl  Do i put that formula into the "default" control of the text input?

Super User

You would place that formula in the "default" of the control where you want to display the output in feet/inches.

Helper II

@timl I input the following formula into the default control, and i got the following error code:

With({input: "65 3/8"}, With({val:Value(First(Split('CM/IN input_2', " ")).Value)},Int(val/12)&"'"&Mod((val,12)&"''"&Last(Split('CM/IN input_2'," ").Value

@LipoLoHu

According to Bing

``Floor(Feet) & "' " & Round((Feet - Floor(Feet)) * 12) & "\""``

I'm showing that the floor function does not exist in power apps

@LipoLoHu

Bing thought so. I had my doubts. So much for AI.
