New Records dont show in GalleryList

I had created a question earlier but I havent gotten any responses and Ive made some observations since so I am writting a new one.  Thanks in advance for any help!

I can submit edits to my dropbox table fine and new records show up in dropbox as well.  After Edit or Create a record the gallery reflects the changes nicely however when I refresh the datasource the new record vanishes from the gallery but the edited record still works.  The excel sheet in dropbox is the way it should be with both the edit and the new record.

Also, the gallery uses a source reference, not a collection.

Any idea what is going on?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi

When you close and open your app the new records also don't show in the list?

correct.  Thats one of the things that makes it disappear.  If I refresh the data source in any way the records in the source stay correct, editeded records in the gallery stay correct but new records in the gallery disappear.  Thanks for the response.

Just trying to help troubleshoot..

Did this ever work? Are you filtering the datasource on the gallery?

Nope, still doesnt work.  I've tried it without a filter as well.

Thanks again.

Matt

Sorry for the short answer. I was leaving work but didnt want to leave you hanging.  I really appreciate the help.

Ive tried recreating the app and I've tried without filters.

Does the gallery use an instance variable or something that isn't getting refreshed? The only variable I have set myself is for my edit button:

Navigate(Screen2,ScreenTransition.None,{MyItem : Gallery1.Selected})

Thanks again!

Matt

But your newly created records do show up in your excel in dropbox?

If you create a fresh gallery they also don't show up? That's strange.

What sometimes helps for me is to remove the datasource out of the app and out of the admin center for PowerApps. Then re-add them.

It is almost as if when the new record is added, it is added ouside of the datasource (ie outside of the table).  That would explain why edits show up but not new records.  But when I download the spreadsheet from dropbox, the new record is corectly inside the table.

I think I got it working after creating yet another app from scratch.  I think PowerApps is very fragile when it comes to managing datasources. Maybe just with dropbox but the dropbox file is very esily corruptable when adding/removing and managing sources and the order it is done in.

Give OneDrive a try - have good results with that ..

Nope, I was wrong.  Still doesnt work.  I will try onedrive.

Thanks,

Matt
