Next and Previous Button OnSelect

Grateful to @v-jefferni for help with this issueDetail Screen not connecting to correct SharePoint List Item

For this same Power App, I'm trying to get the Next and Previous buttons working correctly. I tried implementing @RusselThomas suggestion here using the varItemSelected in place of currentItem but that seems to throw the navigation to the DetailForm1 off and also result in jumping Galleries. Any insight into how I may be able to get these buttons operational would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time!

What is it exactly that you are trying to achieve?  I am getting the concept from one post simply about navigating to a screen and having the right record shown and another about trying to be able to not go back to the gallery screen in order to select the next record, but to just go there to the next.

If the last is the case, then simply set the OnSelect formula in your Gallery to the following:

    Set(varSelectedItemID, ThisItem.ID)

Set the Item property on your Forms to LookUp('Business Glossary', ID=varSelectedItemID)

In the Previous Button on your browse screen, set the OnSelect formula to:

    Set(varSelectetItemID, Last(Filter(Sort(BrowseGallery1.AllItems, ID), ID<varSelecteItemID)).ID)

In the Next Button on your browse screen, set the OnSelect formula to:

    Set(varSelectetItemID, LookUp(Sort(BrowseGallery1.AllItems, ID), ID>varSelecteItemID).ID)

This does not include any formulas for disabling the button when you are at the beginning or the end, but it should give you the navigation you are looking for (if I assumed your problem correctly).

I hope this is helpful for you.

Thanks so much for your assistance! Your assumption is correct and in implementing it, I noticed two things.

1. The DetailForm1 on DetailScreen1 displays selected items correctly from all department galleries except Finance. Finance is the only department with just one item, would this cause an issue? Here is a screencap of the Advanced tab on the BrowseGalleryFinance, located in the Finance screen. All of the Browse Galleries are set to the same OnSelect formula.

2. The Previous and Next buttons on the DetailScreen1 do work as intended. I would like to know if it is possible to have them only navigate on items that are in each dept. For example, an IT user clicks the IT button on the Home screen > clicks an item in the IT screen (BrowseGalleryIT) > Item details are displayed on DetailScreen1 (DetailForm1) > clicks Next button (IconNextItem) and is limited to items filtered by that department.

Below are screencaps to better explain how it is currently built. This entire build I've been trying to stay away from making Detail and Edit screens/forms for each department. Is it possible to achieve this functionality with just the one Detail and Edit screen being used for the whole app?

Would you advise removing the next and previous buttons or is there a formula that would allow them to navigate in a dept specific fashion?

Thanks very much for your help and patience. Happy to clarify or expand on anything. 😀
