No error message when attempting to save a duplicate item

I have a SP list with a column that requires unique values. When I submit the form (customized in PowerApps) with a duplicate value in that column, it doesn't let me save it, but it doesn't produce an error message. It just does nothing. What's missing?

Hi @Beat,

As a workaround, you can add a warning label by yourself following below steps. Notice that whenever you cannot submit the item, the message would appear. So I have added other possbile reason, like a required field is emply.

1. Set the OnFailure property of the editform to:

UpdateContext({Var:true})

2. Insert a Label control and set its Visible property to:

Var

Set its Text property to:

"xxx field must have an unique value or xxx required fields are empty."

Thanks, but it's not a very user friendly solution, as the user will not necessarily know which of the fields is the culprit.
