This error does'nt comes when the dropdown datacard's, Update property is updated with dropdown's datacardvalue.

if I am trying to provide a value from a custom dropdown I get the above error.

Please Help me out , Thanks in Advance.

Re: Not able to Update Dropdown value to a sharepoint List.

Could you explain your scenario a bit more?

1. What is the type of the field you are updating? Is this choice/LookUp/Person field?

2. When you say you are updating it with custom dropdown, what did you bind to the custom dropdown's Default property?

Thanks

Murali

Re: Not able to Update Dropdown value to a sharepoint List.

I have solved this issue. But I will explain what happened.

There was dropdown in our Form. which was customised using InfoPath. All data and actions where taken care in InfoPath.

In sharepoint we have a dropdown column to associate it. Problem here I faced was:

PowerApp by default tends to intergrate the sharepoint columns in all the FORMS in app. So i used a custom DropDown and gave data to it as in InfoPath. Now i tried to update it in the default sharepoint's dropdown column value. I was not able to update.

Then i changed the dropdown type to single line of text , here we dont had any other reflection of changing the type of column.

Re: Not able to Update Dropdown value to a sharepoint List.

I need help with this issue.

"Sample" is a SharePoint list that is a lookup column.

I have set the default value for a lookup column.

OnVisible =  UpdateContext({sID: LookUp(Samples,ID = galSelectedSamples.Selected.ID)}  ) ; UpdateContext({sValue: LookUp(Samples,Title = galSelectedSamples.Selected.Title)}) ; UpdateContext( {SampleLookup:{ '@odata.type' : "#Microsoft.Azure.Connectors.Sharepoint.SPListExpandedReference", Id: Value(sID.ID)  ,Value: sValue.Title } })

Then I set the default value of the DataCard to :  SampleLookup

                                                                 Value1 : Value

                                                                 Value2: Id

The correct value is preloading into the dropdown as expects.

but when I submit the form I get the above mentioned   error:

The requested operation is invalid.Server Response: A value must be provided for item.
