Is it possible to create a PowerApp Outlook add-in? I want to be able add "action" buttons on a ribbon for a specify email, to feed the data from that email into the PowerApp, which then updates a SharePoint list item behind the scenes (updating fields, adding new entries if applicable). etc.
Is that possible?
I saw the "Microsoft PowerApps Office Add-in" but this just gives the ability to edit hte CDM, which I am not using.
I saw this forum post https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/powerapps-app-as-an-add-in-in-outlook-online-... where EmilViljoen aludes that they built it using html iFram, but no real guidance was given.
Hi @LeviStevens ,
Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?
Do you want to add "PowerApps" as "Add-In" in your Outlook?
If you want to add "PowerApps" as "Add-In" in your Outlook, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in PowerApps currently. The "Microsoft PowerApps Outlook Add-in" is not supported within Outlook.
If you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:
As an alternative solution, you could consider created a Model-Driven app, and embed it into your Outlook. Within this Model-Driven app, you could embed an canvas app, you could use the embedded canvas app within the Model-Driven app form to send email.
Please check and see if the following blog would help in your scenario:
More details about embedding an canvas app into a Model-Driven app form, please check the following blog:
So in order to bring CDS with custom entities and power app in outlook, I need to create a model driven app in dynamics with a Power App canvas embedded and integrate the solution as an Add-on in Outlook. The question is how I can achieve this? Can you please tell me step by step how I can add a model driven app in Outlook or please provide me some links where they explain exactly the process. I didn't found links that provides concrete steps.
