PDF Reader App - Where is the data source file?

I created a new test powerapp using the pdf reader template. Where is it pulling the data from? I'd like to edit the data and analyze it. Thanks!

Do you create an app using PDF Reader template app on your side?

Further, do you want to analyze the data source on your side?

Currently, the data source of this template app (PDF Reader template app) is embedded within this app, if you want to analyze the data source on your side, you must make this template app as your own app.Then you could select a cloud storage (e.g. Dropbox, OnrDriver for Business, etc) to store this data source.

I have made a test on my side, please take a try with the following workaround:

Note: If you store this data source within your OneDrive for Business folder, you could find it within PowerApps folder of your OneDrive for Business root folder.

Yes, I used "PDF Reader" template. Yes, I want to analyze the data source and even modify the data.

The way I created my app was New/Templates/PDF Reader. I never got a message asking me where I want my data stored. When it appears I do have a datasource called PDFData (it says "imported from Excel") but I only have the options to Refresh or Remove it. I can't open it up to look at the raw data, or even find the file. Is there a way to view/edit the embedded data?

By the way, I like your video. How did you make that?

Actually, I tried to create the app again, from scratch. This time I noticed the option at the bottom to change the data for the app. I think this is the key.

I am sure this worked in 2018 but they have updated the templates and removed all those helpful bars that asked you to save in one drive or sharepoint now you save the virtual data and nothing. You are unable to see the names of the columns used in the template so that you can replicate your own datasource without breaking the code.

It is rather annoying.

I have downloaded at least 5 templates and saved them and all they tell me is saved and published.

I do not have time to learn how to make my own app.

It took some comparison activities but theres a simple fix to populating the left hand column.

Change PDFName to ThisItem.PDFName (as it is in the template before we changed the source)

Same for PDFAuthor > ThisItem.PDFAuthor
