Password validation from list or database

So I have managed to get a simple password validation working bu using

If (inputPassword.Text = "MySecretPassword", Navigate(BrowseScreen1,ScreenTransition.Fade))

What I would like to do is to have the ability to easily change the password by keeping it in an external file or database. Even better would be to be able to ask for both a username and a password. Anyone solved an issue like that?

Create a table and name it DatabaseName

UserName                PasswordText

user1                         pass1

user2                         pass2

Insert 2 inputTexts in your first screen with a button and in your button OnSelect property type

If(!IsEmpty(Filter(DatabaseName,UserName=InputText1.Text&& PasswordText=InputText2.Text)),Navigate(Screen2,None))

There might be a typo in the code... But that should gives you an idea

Thanks!

The table, I assume I put that in an unused screen?

No... you don't need to put that table anywhere in your app.. All you have to do is to connect it with your app by going to

View->Data sources->Add Data source
