AshishJaiswal_0-1626250457030.png

I would like to set the onselect property to patch like to sharepoint list.

If the person has already liked it then 'like' button should be grayed out.

To get that field to come up

you need to change the below setting in your sharepoint list under rating

Yes I know - I tested it, but how do you show the icon in Power Apps? What are the properties of that object in the gallery?

@WarrenBelz

It is simple plan icon that i added from icon list in the gallery

thinking that i will patch likes to sharepoint list - using the onselect property.

@AshishJaiswal ,

I was assuming all of this time that you had the icon linked to the field and I could not even get it to reference in Power Apps (so was wondering how you did it).

I will leave you with this as I do not know the solution (I don't think there actually is one).

@WarrenBelz

No worries, sir thank you for replying to my post.

@AshishJaiswal

I agree with Warren, there might not be any solution here.  Suggest you use a standard column type like number instead of rating.

@WarrenBelz @Ramole @WarrenBelz

I am able to patch 'likes' from PowerApps to Sharepoint rating/like column using below

Also using a label CountRows(ThisItem.'Liked By') - I can count the likes too

When the 'likes' are patched to Sharepoint. The heart icon in rating/like column is filled but the number of 'likes' are not increasing.

On contradictory - when i check the label CountRows(ThisItem.'Liked By')  - the count is increased.

AshishJaiswal_0-1626671066137.png

ClearCollect(LikedBy_col,ThisItem.'Liked By');
// Patch to update the likedby_col collection to add current user details

Patch(
        LikedBy_col,
        Defaults(LikedBy_col),
        {
            Claims: "i:0#.f|membership|" & Lower(User().Email),
            Department: "",
            DisplayName: User().FullName,
            Email: User().Email,
            JobTitle: "",
            Picture: ""
        }
    );

// Patch to update the likedby hidden column of SharePoint with this collection
 Patch(
        'Sharepointlistname',
        ThisItem,
         {'Liked By': LikedBy_col}

    )

Any idea why the count is not increasing in rating/like column.

@AshishJaiswal ,

I cannot reproduce any of this, so I am not sure of your logic or process.

As @mdevaney suggested, consider getting rid of that column type (there is no reason you need it and you are the first person I have seen use it) and simply put in a Text field with "Liked" when someone likes it. It will be very easy to count and update then.
