Patch a SharePoint list Via Hyper Link

Hello All,

I have a strange request that I am not sure if it's possible. I am using a PowerApp to generate an email for approval. The data-source is a SharePoint site. I am using the Office365Outlook connector to send the email, specifically "Office365Outlook.SendEmailV2".

The ask is to have two links in the email, one to approve and one to deny and update the SharePoint site accordingly. (Choice column) Similar to the Flow function, but I need to avoid using flow. I know I could redirect them directly to the SharePoint site to that specific item, but I would like to keep the data-source hidden from the users.

Is it possible to do this?

Thank you!

Yes, this is possible with Deep Linking. This Shane Young video explains the process.

I built a similar process in an App I'm currently working on. My process is:

1. Email sent with HTML table and Deep Link

2. User reads email, clicks link
3. Link opens the App to a screen specifically designed for Accept / Decline

3. User clicks one of the buttons, data is Patched to SP and App closes

Happy to help further if needed.
